Formulation guidelines
Solubility & Compatibility — Bakuchiol is an oil-soluble active ingredient with excellent compatibility in oil-based systems, emulsions, anhydrous serums, creams, and lotions.
Incorporation Method — Recommended to dissolve Bakuchiol directly in the oil phase or suitable cosmetic esters/solvents prior to emulsification or incorporation.
pH & Stability Conditions — Optimal stability is maintained in formulations with a pH range of 4.0–6.5. To prevent potential color drift, avoid exposure to strong alkaline conditions and trace metal ions (the use of a chelating agent is recommended in emulsion systems).
Thermal Stability & Process — To maintain active integrity, avoid prolonged exposure to high temperatures. It is recommended to add Bakuchiol during the cool-down phase (below 50°C) of processing.
Stability ranges may vary depending on molecular weight grade, concentration, formulation matrix, and processing conditions. Final formulation stability should be confirmed through appropriate stability testing.
