skin hydration after 3 weeks vs. baseline

A 3-week skin evaluation was conducted on 46 healthy female participants using a formulation containing Niacinamide. The results showed that Niacinamide improved skin hydration and enhanced overall skin appearance. After continuous application, skin hydration increased by approximately 21.6% compared with baseline, and 81.2% of participants observed improvement in skin tone and the appearance of discoloration.

Formulation guidelines

  • Solubility & Compatibility — Niacinamide is highly water-soluble and exhibits excellent stability in cosmetic formulations. It shows wide compatibility with various skincare active ingredients and base systems.

  • Dissolution — Recommended to dissolve Niacinamide in the aqueous phase during processing.

  • pH Range & Hydrolysis Control — Highly stable within a formulation pH range of 5.0–7.0. Avoid extreme acidic (pH < 4.5) or alkaline environments to prevent potential hydrolysis into nicotinic acid, which may cause skin flushing.

  • Processing Temperature — Avoid prolonged exposure to high temperatures. It is recommended to incorporate Niacinamide during the cool-down phase (below 60°C) when possible.

  • Synergistic Formulations — Compatible with polyols, hyaluronic acid, peptides, antioxidants, and other active ingredients to create multifunctional skincare products.

Stability ranges may vary depending on molecular weight grade, concentration, formulation matrix, and processing conditions. Final formulation stability should be confirmed through appropriate stability testing.
